Historical: San Juan de Dios Chapel

The San Juan de Dios Chapel in Santa Marta, located near the bay and in the Historic Center of Santa Marta, is a Catholic religious temple built in 1746 by the order of San Juan de Dios. This chapel, which preserves its original architecture, has been a place of prayer and spiritual refuge for the faithful from the 18th to the 20th century, being closely linked to the old San Juan de Dios hospital, which served the province and then the department of Magdalena.
