Experience the charm of the stilt villages in a unique journey that immerses you in the daily life and cultural richness of this coastal region of the Magdalena. The adventure begins between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. with a warm welcome and departure from the Parador Turístico de Pueblo Viejo. As you sail through the channels and mangroves, you’ll enjoy a panoramic and storytelling journey full of legends that bring these floating communities to life.
Upon arriving in Buenavista, between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m., a traditional breakfast awaits you, followed by a visit to the Mangrove Nursery and a lively Afro-Caribbean folk dance performance celebrating local heritage. The journey continues toward Nueva Venecia, where you’ll explore its water streets and connect with the daily life of its people, who have preserved their identity upon the waters. The final stop will be at a local artisan’s home, where you’ll discover traditional techniques used to create colorful handmade crafts.
Finally, around 11:45 a.m., you’ll begin your return journey filled with smiles, stories, and memories of the beauty and resilience of these unique communities. From the warm welcome to the final photograph, this trip promises to be an unforgettable and heartfelt experience.

🔹 Cancellations made less than 15 days in advance: No refund applies. However, travelers may reschedule the experience at no additional cost, subject to availability and with at least 72 hours’ notice.

No había tenido la oportunidad de conocer unos pueblos dentro de la Ciénaga Grande. Me pareció una experiencia muy bonita y entrañable llegar a reunirnos con los pobladores de los pueblos Palafitos.
Inicar viendo la salida del sol en el espejo de la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta y encontrar en la inmensidad de la cienaga a los Pueblos Palafitos, es una experiencia Mágica.
