Embark on an unforgettable journey to Mulkwakungui! Mulkwankungi is a Kogui settlement in the Quebrada del Sol area of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. In this ethno-tourism experience you will immerse yourself in the harmonious coexistence between the indigenous Arhuacos and local farmers. Discover the school where children from diverse cultures preserve traditions by sharing classrooms. In addition, the experience invites you to explore the natural beauty of the lowland region of the Sierra Nevada. Immerse yourself in the authentic lifestyle of these communities, learn about their customs and values, and share unique moments with the local community.

This is what you’ll find in your experience
• Pick up at 7:00 am in a 4x4 vehicle from Santa Marta, or the surroundings of Tayrona Park, to reach the boundaries and take the 11-kilometer dirt road. 45-minute journey.
• A stop is made at the viewpoint to take photographs and capture the landscape. 5 minutes.
• Upon reaching the Quebrada del Sol area, they get out of the vehicle; there the indigenous guide will meet them and take them to the Kogui territory, which is just 2 minutes away by crossing a ravine, where they must take off their shoes.
• They perform a breathing ritual and wash their feet before entering the Mulkwakungui indigenous village. They are received by the indigenous authority at the sacred site, they perform a spiritual cleansing to remove bad energy, they place a shield, and they hug a caracolí tree to receive positive energies.
• Then a tour is made where the crafts and the Kogui culture are shown.
• We finish with a delicious country lunch and artisanal cocoa show.

🔹 Presentation of the traditional use of coca leaves.
🔹 Demonstration of coca leaf toasting and explanation of the poporo.
🔹 Introduction to fique, its transformation into thread, and the process of weaving traditional mochilas (bags).
🔹 Visit to the local school and talk about education within the community.
🔹 Return to Quebrada del Sol to enjoy a typical lunch.
🔹 Experience concludes with a tasting of local coffee.
