🏔️ Trekking Palace of the Clouds – 3 Days of Adventure in the Sierra Nevada Mountains

Day 1 – Ascent to the Heights and Panoramic Views

🚙 4×4 Departure from the Hotel
Begin your adventure toward Minca, the ecological capital of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. As you climb, the aroma of coffee and breathtaking views of the Ciénaga lagoon complex accompany the journey up to Moncho’s Lodge, located at 2,800 m a.s.l.

☕ Light Breakfast with Local Coffee
Fuel up before the main trek while breathing in the crisp, fresh mountain air.

🥾 Trek to Cerro Kennedy (approx. 5 hours)
A challenging yet rewarding hike offering 360° views of the Sierra Nevada, Tayrona National Park, and Santa Marta city. Along the way, spot endemic bird species unique to this region.

🏔️ Cerro Kennedy – Highest Point (3,060 m a.s.l.)
Enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view from the heights of the Sierra Nevada.

🍽️ Descent to Altos de la Sierra Lodge and Local Lunch
Meet local residents and relax for the afternoon surrounded by mountain serenity.

🔥 Sunset Bonfire
End the day with a magical moment of connection and reflection by the fire, under the mountain sky.

Day 2 – Magical Sunrise, Waterfalls, and the Palace of the Clouds

🌅 Sunrise Over the Glaciers
An unforgettable moment to capture breathtaking photos of the snowy peaks as the sun rises.

☕ Traditional Breakfast and High-Altitude Coffee
Get energized for the day as you begin your descent through the sub-Andean forest, home to the resplendent quetzal and other tropical species.

🌳 Nature Trail and Aluna Waterfall
Descend through lush jungle until you reach Aluna Waterfall, where a refreshing swim awaits.

🥾 Ascent to the Palace of the Clouds (approx. 1 km)
The final stretch of the hike leads you to the lodge of Lenin, your local host.

🍛 Typical Lunch and Rest at the Palace of the Clouds
Relax in a privileged natural setting with glacier views and the sounds of the forest around you.

🔥 Evening Cultural Exchange
Share stories and traditions with the host family, ending the night around a bonfire and enjoying a home-cooked dinner.

Day 3 – Canyons, Waterfalls, and Return to Civilization

☀️ Light Breakfast and Farewell to the Palace of the Clouds
Capture your last photos of the gardens and glacier views before beginning the descent.

🥾 Trekking Through Guachaca’s Meadows and Canyons
Follow scenic trails overlooking the great Guachaca River canyon, with chances to spot waterfalls and exotic birds.

🏡 Breakfast at La Lujana Farm
Reconnect with hosts Yesid and Milena for a well-deserved rest.

💧 Visit to Velo de Novia Waterfall
Take a refreshing dip and feel the spiritual connection with nature.

🍽️ Lunch at Corea Farm
Enjoy a farewell traditional meal among coffee plantations at the home of Don Juan and his family.

🏍️ Final Descent by Enduro Motorcycle (3 km)
Ride down to Bonda, where a taxi will take you back to your hotel in Santa Marta – the Pearl of America.

Recommendations and tips

🔹 Bring cash if you wish to purchase additional services, handicrafts, or local products along the route.
🔹 Wear sturdy footwear and comfortable clothing, preferably quick-dry and suitable for mountain trekking.
🔹 Inform us in advance if you have any allergies or medical conditions that should be taken into account during the experience.
🔹 Bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and personal hygiene items.
🔹 Pack only what’s necessary. A moderate-sized backpack is recommended for comfort and ease during the hike.
🔹 Notify us of any dietary preferences or restrictions at the time of booking.
🔹 The service is provided in Spanish. An optional translator is available upon request.

Policies

🔹 Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance: 90% refund of the total booking value. The remaining 10% covers administrative and preparation costs.

🔹 Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days in advance: 50% refund of the total booking value.

🔹 Cancellations made less than 15 days in advance: No refund applies. However, you may reschedule your experience at no additional cost, subject to availability and with at least 72 hours’ notice.

🔹 No Show (failure to appear on the day the experience begins): No refund or rescheduling option applies.

🔹 This policy aims to strike a balance between protecting our operations and understanding unforeseen circumstances that may arise for our travelers.
