Pibe Valderrama Monument, Santa marta

The Pibe Statue in Santa Marta is a monumental tribute to Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama, the legendary number 10 of Colombia's national team and one of the country's most beloved soccer players. Located at the entrance of the old Eduardo Santos stadium, this impressive bronze sculpture, erected in 2002, stands six meters high and weighs eight tons, reflecting Pibe's greatness both in sports and in his homeland.

Created by artist Amilkar Ariza along with his team of 12 molders, the Pibe Statue has become an emblem of Santa Marta, attracting soccer fans and tourists who want to learn more about this Colombian sports icon. This work not only celebrates Valderrama's career, but also highlights the deep connection between soccer and Samaria culture.

Strategic Location: Access to the Pibe statue via Carrera 18 with Calle 16.
Public Transportation: It is possible to take a bus to the city center, with many routes passing nearby, especially those traveling along Avenida Libertador and Avenida Santa Rita.
