Tayrona National Natural Park
Tayrona National Natural Park is a natural and ecotourism attraction in Santa Marta, Colombia, housing various ecosystems such as scrublands, dry and humid forests, seagrass beds, and rocky coastlines, with a rich biodiversity that includes titti monkeys, anteaters, toucans, jaguars, and more. It offers tourist sites of interest such as bays, hiking trails, and beaches like Cinto, Chengue, Neguanje, Bahía Concha, and provides the opportunity to engage in nature-related activities such as hiking, wildlife and flora observation, diving, and other nautical activities.
How to get there by transport PUBLIC
- Take a public bus from the city market (departure every 20 minutes).
- The bus journey time is approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
- Taxi option available for a faster but more expensive journey.
- Upon reaching the entrance of Tayrona Park, walk one hour and twenty minutes through a humid and forested jungle with cliffs and rocks.
- Alternative transportation by boat from the beaches of Taganga, with a duration of approximately 1 hour.
- Once inside Tayrona Park, explore the beaches of Cañaveral, reefs, the pool, Arenilla, and finally, Cabo San Juan del Guía.
How to get there by transport PRIVATE
- Use a private vehicle and head towards the Troncal del Caribe highway towards Riohacha.
- Drive to the main entrance of Tayrona Park, known as "el Zaino."
- The "el Zaino" entrance is approximately 34 kilometers from the urban perimeter of Santa Marta.
